Hello!
My name is Ryan Dunn and my work spans narrative strategy, executive messaging, social and digital communications, crisis and rapid-response management, and community-centered storytelling. My approach is culturally informed, trauma-aware, and grounded in helping organizations communicate with steadiness, intention, and trust.
I brings over a decade of experience in integrated marketing and communications across entertainment, media, and technology. His background includes roles at Broadway Across America / The John Gore Organization (Type A Marketing), Paramount / Viacom (MTV and VH1), and Hyundai Motor Group (Motional), where my work intersected with government relations, public policy, and emerging technology.
Prior to launching Dunn Good Works, I completed my MBA with concentrations in Marketing and Management, where my academic focus centered on cultural intelligence (CQ), emotional intelligence (EQ), and human-centered leadership. I set out to explore a foundational question: How can organizations perform truly impactful work without undermining the dignity, safety, or wellbeing of any individual or community in the process?
My graduate research examined how organizations that operate with genuine care for people and communities - not as a brand posture, but as a business discipline - consistently outperform over the long term. This includes stronger brand trust, more resilient reputations, healthier stakeholder relationships, and sustained revenue growth. Through case studies, applied strategy, and real-world analysis, I studied how values-aligned leadership, inclusive decision-making, and ethical communications are not only morally sound, but strategically effective - particularly in complex, highly visible, or mission-driven sectors.
In parallel with my MBA studies, I deepened my work across public health, research, and community advocacy through roles with The Fenway Institute and Boston’s HIV Research Community Action Board, engaging directly with stakeholders navigating complex policy, identity, and trust dynamics. These experiences reinforced my belief that communications sit at the center of how institutions earn credibility and sustain impact.
That foundation continues to inform how I approach every engagement: with rigor, empathy, and a clear understanding that how an organization communicates directly shapes its long-term viability.
Dunn Good Works currently provides senior-level marketing and communications support for Fenway Health, Emerge Collaborations, and the University of Virginia IDEA Fund. I selectively partner with organizations whose missions are rooted in equity, inclusion, and public trust, and am open to conversations about meaningful collaboration.
My StoryWhat Clients Are Saying
“Ryan Dunn is a rare communications leader who combines sharp strategic instincts with an exceptional ability to execute— often simultaneously. At Fenway Health, Ryan has been a true Swiss Army knife for communications: equally strong at big-picture narrative development, stakeholder messaging, rapid-response comms, and the day-to-day mechanics that actually make things move.
What sets Ryan apart is not just versatility, but judgment. He understands how to read complex organizational dynamics, translate values into clear and credible messaging, and adapt tone and strategy across audiences without losing integrity. Whether navigating sensitive issues, building new initiatives from the ground up, or stepping in calmly when stakes are high, Ryan brings clarity, rigor, and trust.
Ryan’s work consistently elevated Fenway’s communications—and the people around him. Any organization working with Dunn Good Works will gain a partner who is thoughtful, reliable, and genuinely effective.”

Pricing Philosophy
My work is built on integrity, care, and alignment. That includes how I price. I collaborate with organizations across different stages of growth, and I recognize that needs and capacities shift over time.
Following a discovery call, I’ll propose a scope and pricing structure that reflects the level of strategy, production, and ongoing support required.
